Fly Cup Enterprises appoints a new Director in its 25th year

Fly Cup Enterprises are today, Thursday 1st May 2025, delighted to announce the appointment of a new Director to the Board, who oversee the charity.

Murray Main will take up his voluntary position immediately and help Fly Cup Enterprises deliver a programme of events to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Chair of the Board, Fiona Allan said, “In order to continue Fly Cup Enterprises’s growth and safeguard its future in such challenging times, we must bring in individuals to help guide us, challenge us, and share their experiences and wisdom. I am delighted Murray has agreed to join the Board. With his experience, enthusiasm, knowledge and passion, as well as the dedication of the other existing Board members, staff, volunteers and of course our wonderful trainees, the future of Fly Cup Enterprises looks bright.

“25 years of Fly Cup Enterprises marks a significant milestone in the charities journey. We have come so far since those early days, and I am delighted we will be able to mark the occasion with a series of events throughout the next twelve months.”

Murray, a retired Superintendent with Police Scotland, said, “I am delighted to be joining the Board at this exciting time. I have known about the work of Fly Cup Enterprises for many years, and I am looking forward to helping a charity close to my heart.

“Fly Cup Enterprises is doing so much to inspire and support adults and young people with learning disabilities, difficulties and differences across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

“I am especially pleased to be joining as we embark on the 25th Anniversary celebrations.”

The Board of Directors plays an integral role in the work of Fly Cup Enterprises, bringing invaluable expertise and influence to support our dedicated team of staff and volunteers develop a strong, caring and secure community which currently enables around 40 adults with learning disabilities and difficulties and other vulnerabilities to reach their full potential and live a life filled with opportunities and possibilities.

More information detailing the plans to celebrate our 25th Anniversary will be shared throughout the next twelve months.
